The decision to make remote monitoring of water systems Ellab’s core business was taken in the second half of the 1970s. At that time, we established the first wireless connection between two water supply facilities in Slovenia. An engineering-led company has never been satisfied with mediocre solutions taken from industry. Industry has diametrically opposite requirements to telemetry: a demanding centralised process, excellent energy supply, extremely fast communications, centralised process control. A remote monitoring system typically comprises a multitude of interacting facilities across several municipalities. Facilities operate in a harsh environment, there is no power supply, there is no communication infrastructure… On the other hand, the administrator wants to be able to access the system anywhere and at any time. And not just one…<\/p>\n\n

Management at all levels – facility, field, office, home, etc. – eliminates costly 24-hour on-call services. Even the largest systems operate on a duty-at-home basis;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
